2. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights with regard to your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR); this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. If we process data for direct marketing, you can object at any time without giving reasons.
Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
3. Visiting this website
3.1 Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, on servers in Germany. IONOS processes data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you access the website, your browser automatically transmits information that the server records in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, the status of the request, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser type and version including operating system.
This data is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability, for example to detect and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after a short period as soon as they are no longer required for these purposes, unless a specific security incident requires longer storage for clarification.
All data is transmitted in encrypted form (TLS/HTTPS).
3.2 Fonts
The fonts used on this website are stored on our own server. No connection to third-party servers (such as Google Fonts) is established for them.
3.3 Cookies and local storage
Without your consent we do not set any cookies. We store only the following information in your browser’s local storage, which is never transmitted to us or to third parties:
- “fie-consent”: your decision on Google Analytics, so that we can respect it on further visits (stored for twelve months, after which we ask again)
- your language selection on the start page
This storage is strictly necessary to provide the functions you have requested (Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can delete this information at any time in your browser settings.
3.4 Website analytics with Google Analytics (only with your consent)
On your first visit we ask whether you agree to the use of Google Analytics. Unless and until you click “Accept”, Google Analytics is not loaded, no analytics cookies are set and no data is transmitted to Google. If you decline, you can use the website without any restriction.
Provider: Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google processes the data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Data processed: pages visited, date, time and duration of the visit, the referring website, approximate location (country, region, city), device type, operating system, browser, screen resolution and language, interactions such as clicks and scrolling, and a random pseudonymous identifier stored in a cookie. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; for visitors from the EU, the IP address is used only to derive the approximate location and is then discarded. We do not use Google Signals, the User-ID function or advertising features, and we do not combine analytics data with other personal data.
Purpose: to understand how visitors use our website, to produce usage statistics and to improve our content and the usability of the website.
Legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choosing “Decline”. Analytics then stops immediately and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Cookies used after consent: “_ga” (distinguishes visitors) and “_ga_<ID>” (stores the session state), each with a storage period of two years.
Storage period: analytics data linked to cookies or identifiers is automatically deleted by Google after 14 months at the latest. Aggregated reports without any personal reference may be kept longer.
Transfer to third countries: Google may also process data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; transfers are therefore based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, Google has agreed to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
More information: Google Privacy Policy and Safeguarding your data (Google Analytics).
3.5 Contact form, e-mail and telephone
If you contact us via the contact form, by e-mail or by telephone, we process the data you provide (in the contact form: name, e-mail address, subject and message, as well as the language and page from which you sent the form) in order to handle your request and any follow-up questions. Requests from the contact form are forwarded to us by e-mail and processed in our internal ticket system.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request is related to a contract or to pre-contractual measures; otherwise your consent given in the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering requests addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Protection against abuse: to prevent mass submissions, the server counts how many requests are sent from the same IP address within one hour. For this purpose it stores only a hash value of the IP address together with the times of the requests; entries older than one hour are no longer used and are overwritten. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection of our systems against misuse).
Storage period: we delete your request once it has been fully dealt with and no further contact is expected, unless statutory retention obligations apply (for example for business letters under commercial and tax law, generally six or ten years).
Providing your data is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer your request.
3.6 Links to other websites
Our website contains links to websites of other providers. When you follow such a link, the respective provider is responsible for the processing of your data there.
4. Our fleet and mobility management services
Most of the personal data we process arises from our fleet and mobility management services for our corporate customers. If you drive a company car or use mobility services provided by your employer, we may process the following data about you:
- master and contact data (e.g. name, business contact details, personnel or cost centre number)
- vehicle and contract data (e.g. vehicle, registration number, leasing and service contracts, mileage)
- data on fuel cards, car rental, roadside assistance, maintenance and repairs
- data on accidents, damage and claims
- data on traffic offences and fines notified to us
- driving licence data, where your employer uses our driver licence check
Sources: we receive this data from your employer, from you, from leasing companies, from service providers (e.g. dealerships, workshops, rental companies, roadside assistance) and from public authorities (e.g. for traffic fines).
Purposes and legal bases: provision of the agreed services, e.g. vehicle registration, arranging maintenance and repairs, handling damage, traffic fines, leasing, fuel card, rental and roadside assistance matters, and communicating with you about them (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR); compliance with legal obligations, e.g. in connection with traffic fines or retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Processing on behalf of your employer: where we process your data on behalf of your employer as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR), your employer is the controller. In that case, please address requests concerning your data primarily to your employer; we will support your employer in answering them.
Recipients: we only pass on data where this is necessary for the respective service or legally required, in particular to your employer, leasing companies, service partners (e.g. dealerships, workshops, roadside assistance, rental companies, fuel card providers), IT service providers acting as our processors, and public authorities. We may also disclose data where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers: where data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA, for example within our international group of companies or to service partners abroad, we ensure an adequate level of data protection in accordance with Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, in particular through adequacy decisions of the European Commission or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Storage period: we store the data for as long as is necessary for the respective service and the underlying contract, and beyond that only as long as statutory retention obligations require it or as long as it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Without the data required for the respective service, we cannot provide that service.
5. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Data transmission over the Internet can never be completely secure; please let us know if you have reason to believe that your data is no longer secure with us.
6. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
7. Changes to this privacy policy
We will update this privacy policy when our services or the legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page. Where a change requires your consent, we will ask for it separately.
